Hi There!

L'Alchimiste Cuisine is a sub-branch of L'Alchimiste Natural Medicine Clinic and Apothecary established by Henrietta Chang in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, Australia.

Henrietta has been involved in the field of natural and complementary medicine since over 20 years years and found that her in-clinic clients were in need of some practical and simple recipe ideas to use in their every day busy lives as well as to re-imprint their relationship with food and cooking to be one that held more fun and joy as ingredients.

Her own busy schedule of teaching as well as running her clinic and having a family life too meant that cooking time was often limited. Yet knowing how important nourishing meals are to support us in our everyday, Henrietta started a simple food blog and recipe site on an old website sharing some simple and practical recipes and cooking ideas and tips to support others to have fun in the kitchen whilst being Nourished to the bone!

This has now lead to this new recipes blog and website as well as some soon to be released e-books with recipes, all designed to inspire in a simple way cooking with fun and joy.

Shopping for food as well as cooking and eating food is really quite simple when we tune into the body and its natural guidance.

We can be inspired by recipes, or perhaps from having been to someone's place for dinner, and then make a meal that truly loves up the body. And of course the opposite can happen too - sometimes we make a choice or 'get tricked' to eat something that does not support the body - perhaps by looking at what someone else is eating and thinking that that will work for us too.

The bottom line is that some foods will work to nourish us whilst others will not, and this might change daily or over the years. This is not something to be overwhelmed by, but rather something that asks us to always be on the ready to adjust our diets and food accordingly to our body's needs, no different to our diet changing as we grow and develop from being a newborn, to being a toddler, a young child, a teenager, an adult and then moving into our elderly years. Yes, there are the practical adjustments and nutritional needs to consider that are important, but equally important is that there is also another way to nourish the body with food that is well worth considering, no matter our age.

So stay tuned and on your toes - even when browsing through the recipes on this site, make sure you play with the foods to adjust it accordingly.
