Slow Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Updated: Oct 7, 2022

Many people think Brussel sprouts don't taste so good...they probably have tried boiled or steamed Brussel sprouts that can have quite a distinct flavour to them. But Brussel sprouts can be very tasty when prepared in the right way. Try this and you might just believe me...but be careful as they are quite addictive.

Ingredients:

  • Brussel sprouts (you can use the baby ones if you like)

  • Olive oil and spices of your choice (can use garlic powder, black pepper and turmeric OR a different combo such as Sumac and turmeric and black pepper etc)

Method:

Heat the oven to 180 degrees fan forced. Clean the Brussel sprouts and place them on a baking tray on some baking paper. Drizzle some olive oil on top and then sprinkle with spices. Cover the tray with aluminium foil and place in the oven to cook for 1.5-2hours or till soft and creamy on the inside and some crunch on the outside - you can remove the foil for the last 15-20 mins to increase the crunch factor.

Enjoy as a side or add to a salad.
