Turkey Meat Balls

A quick and easy meal to make and have as finger food or as a main. You can of course use any mince such as lamb or chicken or beef. Sometimes I like to prep foods in the morning so that when I come home I can just do the cooking and it cuts back on time and makes things that much smoother or easier to do. So I might prep the mince ingredients, mix it all together and then pop it in the fridge to wait for my return home from work. Then on coming home I just need to heat the oven and as it is heating up I roll up the balls and lay them on a baking tray and pop them in the oven to cook whilst I have a shower and get into my PJs! Voilà!

Ingredients:

  • 500 g turkey mince

  • ¼ brown onion chopped super fine

  • spices to delight your palate (I used L’Alchimiste Merguez spices with Cumin, Turmeric, Fennel, Peppermint, Hawthorn Berry, Chilli and Black Pepper)

  • A dash of olive oil

Method: Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and form into balls with both hands. Lay the balls out on a baking tray covered in baking paper and place in a preheated oven (175 degrees Ceclius) and bake for about 20 minutes or longer depending on your oven efficiency. Watch out to not overcook them as you want the meat balls to be slightly moist on the inside
